Read the following:
- Read the The Cathedral and the Bazaar in The Cathedral and the Bazaar pp 21-63
In your fifth blog entry of the semester, address each of the following bullets (1 or more paragraph each):
- What is something that you learned or found interesting in this essay and what is something that you each found confusing or didn’t understand or disagreed with?
- Summarize what Raymond means when he refers to “cathedral” and “bazaar” community models. Discuss some advantages of each
model and some disadvantages.
- According to Raymond, what makes a good leader within the bazaar model? How do you see your particular skill set fitting into this model?
What might you need to work on to fit into this model?
- Aside from open source software development, what other domains can you think of that make use of a bazaar model?
Can you think of any specific examples of bazaar-like communities other than FOSS projects?
